Compass Gallery's new owners to feature abstract art
Three Salem artists have assumed management of the Compass Gallery in the
Willamette Heritage Center. Tory Brokenshire, Dayna Collins and Bonnie Hull
have transformed the gallery into a cooperative that will feature their
colorful, whimsical and abstract art.
The three artists work in different genres. Brokenshire specializes in
whimsical figures made from found objects and clay. Hull creates brightly
colored quilts, paintings and drawings. Collins works in abstract landscapes
that are full of color, texture and layers.
The new owners’ first show, “Magnetic Pull,” will be on exhibition Jan.
11 through Feb. 3. Each week, one artist will actively work on an art project in
the gallery from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, while conversing
with visitors about process, inspiration and technique.
